Differential Palmitoylation Analysis

Analysis Guide
Analysis Types
  • Group A vs Group B: Compare any two groups of datasets
  • Cancer vs Normal: Specifically compare cancer vs normal tissues (Human only)
How to Use
  1. 1 Select species (Human or Mouse)
  2. 2 Choose analysis type
  3. 3 Select datasets for comparison (mutually exclusive between groups)
  4. 4 Optionally specify proteins or genes to analyze
  5. 5 Run analysis and view results
Statistical Methods
Differential Expression Test:
  • Fisher's exact test for binary expression data
  • Expression ratios calculated from presence/absence counts
  • Odds ratios show direction of differential expression
Multiple Testing Correction:
  • Benjamini-Hochberg FDR applied when analyzing multiple proteins
  • Controls false discovery rate at 5% (p < 0.05)
  • Reduces false positives from multiple comparisons
Input Format: You can input UniProt protein accessions (e.g., P01116) or gene symbols (e.g., KRAS). Separate by spaces, commas, tabs, or newlines. The system will automatically convert genes to proteins.
Literature: palmitoylation data from published studies
Mass Spectrometry: PalmLab quality control data for palmitoylation mass spectrometry
Cancer vs Normal analysis is only available for human datasets (Literature data only)
Enter UniProt accessions or gene symbols. Leave empty to analyze all available proteins.
